Love is in the air, well the oven anyway.
Even though I have been married for too long (10 years this Summer) me and Mr Louise Makes Cakes still like to acknowledge the most romantic day of the year by going out to dinner, buying soppy (or hilariously funny) valentine cards and sometimes the odd single rose, depending on whether we are talking or not.
As Mr louise Makes Cakes is a fitness fanatic and thinks that sugar is the Devil's food, it's pretty much a waste of time making him a cake so I now make one for the real love of my life, Annabel. She is my 6 year daughter who thinks that sugar is one of her 5-a-day and can't really get through 2 hours without ingesting it. Perfect!
This year's little mini cake for her (above) was inspired by a Paperchase card that a friend of mine found and thought it would make a brilliant design for a cake (thanks Lin!). If you are lucky enough to own the cute heart leaves cutter set from http://www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/ then this will be easy to make. If you don't own it, get it...........as a little valentine present for yourself!
